ERIBA presents a masterpiece in terms of design & technology: the ERIBA Touring 820

11/01/2019
ERIBA presents the new flagship of the popular Touring model range: the Touring 820. The model boasts a unique design and a completely new feeling of space. Despite its length of around 8.50 metres, the new ERIBA Touring model still features the tried-and-tested steel cage design, which has provided the model range with its distinctive shape for over 60 years. ERIBA is taking another step towards the future with the ERIBA Smart Home control system, which is integrated as standard and can be operated using a digital control panel and app.

“The ERIBA Touring has been a byword for individual travel since the original “Troll” in 1957. Thanks to its striking and characteristic design, it’s immediately recognisable and has a large and loyal fan base as a result. When it comes to size, design and function, the ERIBA Touring 820 is now taking this model range to the next level. We’re proud to finally be able to present the future of ERIBA today,” says Rudi Fimpel, ERIBA Caravans Divisional Manager.

The Touring model range has always been unmistakable

It would be impossible to imagine the world of motorhoming without the ERIBA Touring. It has shaped generations and is the only caravan made by ERIBA that has been in continuous production for over 60 years. Its distinctiveness makes it the company’s most successful model range, standing out from the crowd at any camping ground. Over the years, the models have appeared in various sizes and designs, and the amenities, fittings and technologies have also been continuously developed in order to satisfy the needs of the customers, as well as the quality standards of Hymer GmbH & Co. KG. However, one thing has never changed in six decades – the distinctive shape of the ERIBA Touring. The new Touring 820 is also based on the tried-and-tested steel cage bodywork, which provides it with its striking design.

Extravagant and modern: the new ERIBA Touring 820

With its larger layout – which offers a headroom of over two metres inside the vehicle – and completely redesigned interior and exterior, the ERIBA Touring 820 has an extremely extravagant and futuristic look. The exterior of the caravan makes a design statement with its smooth metal, silver panels and the characteristic ERIBA Touring styling. Aside from the renowned bodywork, the new ERIBA flagship is notable for its tried-and-tested, completely wood-free and damage-proof GRP lightweight floor. The large windows at the front and rear provide the tandem-axle vehicle with its extraordinary appearance. The new rear lights are arranged in a continuous strip and are seamlessly incorporated into the central rail. The ambient lighting, which emphasises the unique shape of the ERIBA Touring 820, is also located in the central rail.

The interior is notable for the striking and rounded shape of the furniture, which is reminiscent of modern yacht design. The dark and matt furniture finish elegantly contrasts with the bright surfaces, while the cushions have a particularly stylish and modern look thanks to the standard leather upholstery. Upon entering the Touring 820, the redesigned and unique kitchen unit immediately catches the eye. The work surface continues up the wall to the ceiling, providing the kitchen with a visual framework and a particularly exclusive appearance. A concealed coffee machine pull-out tray, the sink with colour-coordinated cover and chopping board as well as ample storage space make the kitchen a real highlight of the new Touring. The 180° Panorama Lounge at the front boasts an all-round view and the extra-high back cushions provide even greater seating comfort. The bathroom is particularly notable for its separate shower with a wooden panel grating insert as well as the handy toothbrush holder on the washbasin. The V-shaped beds at the rear combine the advantages of single and double beds. The beds are extremely easy to get out of thanks to their shape, and there is considerably more storage space underneath them as the top half is joined together.

Smart Home as standard plus numerous customisation options

Aside from its extraordinary appearance, the ERIBA Touring 820 also features a particularly comprehensive range of standard equipment. The new ERIBA Smart Home control system is especially worthy of note. Using a digital control panel and app, the levels of the fresh and waste water tank, battery and gas bottles can be managed with ease. The stabilizer jacks with automatic levelling, which are unique in the caravan segment, are another highlight. In addition, the ERIBA Touring 820 has a fabric lining on the roof, which emphasises the high-quality appearance of the new Touring on the one hand, while ensuring improved sound insulation on the other, as well as better acoustics and a more generous feeling of space as a result. The standard equipment also includes a roof air conditioning system including LED lighting, as well as a hot water heater with an 8.4-litre hot water boiler and floor heating. The new ERIBA flagship is also notable for its numerous optional extras. Aside from a solar installation, the customisation options for the new ERIBA Touring 820 also include a second and third living area battery and the ERIBA All-In multimedia package, which includes a 32-inch TV in the entrance area, DSP box and satellite system.

The ERIBA Touring 820 will be available from dealers from spring 2019 onwards.
